Antidote @ Taipei

Shanghai's Antidote party came to Taipei, Taiwan, on Friday, July 11, 2008.

* We think this is the first time a mainland China-based party did Taiwan. We hope to do this more in the near future, bringing Taiwan music talents to the mainland, and vice versa.

* Highlights of the night included an ass-kicking live set by Go Chic, a bass-in-your-face drum and bass set by FunkStar, and a surprise cameo appearance by Taiwan's premiere live hip hop act, THC, with D.Soto manning the decks. Shanghai legends Trix and Ozone kept the party going into overtime.

* Antidote's Ozone and D.Soto rocked the big stage at the Summer Clash beach festival the following night. Live on Taiwan TV.

* If you're in Taipei, you can now pick up CDs by Antidote regulars Sulumi, Kill Club, and IGO at the White Wabbit shop at The Wall, and the Mo'Relax Cafe in Shida.

About Trix vs. Shaolinpunk
DJ Trix vs. his alter ego producer Shaolinpunk. Trix aka Shaolinpunk is bringing his signature fidget electro mash sound back to Taiwan, after several years of rocking China. After a residency at Shanghai's premiere dance club, bonbon (God's Kitchen UK), and several tours of the nation, Trix is flexing his underground sounds with The Antidote. Trix has a signature sound that's mad fidgety yet groovy, turning house and electro-rock upside down and inside out.

About DJ D.Soto
American studio tech wizard (with Ninja Tune) turned DJ, D.Soto started DJing in London, under the tutelage of Howie B. During a brief stint in Shanghai last year, D.Soto met up and played with the Uprooted Sunshine and Antidote crews, before moving to Taipei. D.Soto plays all styles of music, with a focus on world music that your momma doesn't listen to.

About DJ Ozone
Starting as a radio DJ in California before doing live music and club nights, Ozone founded The Antidote with Shanghai producer/designer B6. As a DJ, he plays "mad eclectic" music, from electro-punk and indie-rock, to African soukous and Bhangra/Bolly-funk.

About DJ FunkStar
The most well-known Drum & Bass DJ in Taiwan, FunkStar smashes dance floors all over the island with his upfront mixing skill & diverse tune selection. FunkStar has DJ'd from China to London, UK, and is invited to play at Womb Tokyo this summer.
