* Meng Qi from Beijing is one of China's more innovative young producers. He makes his own instruments. He mixes the sounds of traditional Chinese music with modern electronics. And he mixes genres that normally are at odds, like progressive breaks with drum and bass. His Landscape albums (China Vibe Records) are some of the few independent releases that have made it onto the shelves of mainstream shops around the country. The tracks blend into each other, with strong melody lines, reminding us of Orbital's "Brown Album" classic. Expect Meng Qi's live set to be aggressive drum and bass with moments of beauty, all pumped out of a big mess of machines and wires.

* MHP has been producing stacks of new minimal techno tracks, he'll be premiering the best of the lot this night.

* Fish, Why, and Wolf Candy are some of Shanghai's freshest young DJ talents. Fish plays acid tech funk, Why plays trip hop, and Wolf Candy rocks atmospheric drum and bass. Ozone will return from a record-hunting trip in India with some new dubby bhangra breaks.
